Orion catches scam images, without ever slowing down
Orion now removes scam images, its anti-spam was rewritten so it never slows the bot down again, and all its messages have a new design: logs, private messages and commands.
New: scam images
Fake casino promos, crypto “giveaways”, fake contests in a celebrity’s name: these scams spread as images to slip past text filters. Orion now removes them.
Its detection algorithms analyze each image in a few milliseconds to tell whether it is a scam. And Orion doesn’t forget: a scam it has already caught is recognized right away, on every server it protects.
Turn on “Scam images” in the Automod section of the dashboard or with /settings.
An anti-spam thousands of times faster
We had performance issues: the detection of repeated and similar messages could block Orion until Discord disconnected it. It had to be turned off.
Both detections were rewritten. Orion now compares messages in small pieces of text, and spots repetitions by compressing the message: a text that repeats itself compresses a lot.

The same analysis now takes a few dozen microseconds, and both detections are on again.
Clearer logs
Every log was redesigned. Its colour now depends on how serious the event is, not on the module that sends it.
- Alert
- Raid, suspect user, server changes. A large title, and the notification roles are mentioned.
- Action
- Moderation, NSFW, toxicity. A card with the member concerned and the details of the sanction.
- Feed
- Young accounts, bots, captcha, renames. A single line, and the rest behind the Details button.

The Details button is only visible to you: account age, roles, timeout still running, module settings. Nothing is stored, everything is read again when you click.
Orion’s emojis were redone too, in purple and more personal versions.
Readable private messages
When Orion sanctions a member, they receive a clear card: the server, the sanction, the moderator, when the sanction ends and the reason. The banner and the crowded text are gone.

The message sent to a member who joins during raidmode follows the same design.
Also new
/nuke replies with a “Channel regenerated” card and a link to the new channel. The old channel is only deleted once the new one is ready.
Ghost ping alerts show the author and the members or roles targeted, without mentioning them a second time.
The captcha is shown in a card with its expiry time. If they fail, the member now receives a single private message.
Anti-bot: a bot added by a whitelisted member is no longer kicked, and the log says who added it.
Whitelist: a member who leaves the server is removed from it automatically.
Young accounts: after 4 attempts in 24 hours, the account is banned for 1 day instead of only being kicked.
Notification roles: a role deleted from Discord is removed automatically and no longer shows as “@deleted-role”.
Dashboard: next to the Automod, Protection and Suspect users settings, an animation shows each module in action.
Fixes
- Default sanctions, without custom settings, sent no log and no private message. This is fixed for every module.
- /whitelist no longer crashes when the list is empty.
- Removing a notification role that no longer exists no longer causes an error.
